Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photojournalist and journalist who has been covering wars, natural disasters for more than 45 years, focuses on the suffering of people within these zones. Curry has covered wars around the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of the city of Agana) was an American television reporter, anchor and journalist. Curry was perhaps most well-known for being the correspondent of the Today Show, a morning news program that was broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry's work was praised in its reporting of the humanitarian situations that were affecting war-ravaged nations as well as natural disasters. Curry was born in Japan and was raised by her Japanese mother. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. She met her mother during the time she was living with her father in Japan after World War II. Her father was in the military and her family had to move around frequently. Curry graduated from high school in Ashland Oregon. Her graduation with a journalist education from University of Oregon in 1978. Ashland was her final high school. She was on the path to success in her career when she began her career in broadcasting as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She was later the first female news reporter for the station at 22. Then, she moved on to become an anchor and reporter for KGW, an NBC affiliate station in Portland. Then, in Los Angeles, she became a reporter on KCBS TV 4 years following her arriving in the city. In her time with the station, she earned 2 Emmy Awards.
