She began her modeling career in 1990 and soon moved to acting after guest appearances on television series like Boy Meets World or High Incident. In 1997 she made her acting debut as a film actor on Nowhere. Then, in American Beauty and American Pie the actress gained more recognition for her roles. The next time she appeared was in Loser (2000) which was a co-production with American Pie actor Jason Biggs. Then she appeared as the title character for the film Sugar & Spice (2002). She had appearances in the 2002 independent drama Spun and the 2004 thriller film Trauma. Her other appearances include HBO's comedy Six Feet Under. In 2008, she was cast in a string of films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the adaptation film of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a modeling model for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads for Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured in several fashion magazines as well as blogs like Vogue.
